I'm not always playing music...

I thought that I'd post this for you because I did start a conversation on Facebook about making the changes to my precious instrument. Russell at Master Works doesn't hold me back when I come up with a hairbrained idea. He'll just tell me to make sure I don't do anything that can't be undone. I love a guy who throws caution to the wind.

So I just thought that I could sweeten the top end of my RCE XR by adding some brass rods instead of the synthetic "delrin" on the bridge and sides of the instrument. I'm not even sure what got me thinking about it because I'm not at all unhappy with my instruments sound. She sings just fine. But somewhere I must have had a thought while falling asleep and so I got up and started research and brainstorming. Then I couldn't get it out of my head.

So here are the results. I konw it's video and I know that I didn't play you a song but maybe you can appreciate the work and risk that I put in here. I really like the results. I'm really happy infact. Donna walked in and said, "oh yeah, that's a whole lot sweeter." My wife, always knows what to tell me. :)

So I would love to know some more details around these changes. It is hard to tell what strings you changed and what material you used etc. I also love the new sound.
