Say hello to Jon and Sally Hall. They just hosted a house concert up in MI last weekend and we had the most wonderful time. I always forget, but I’m quickly reminded, I usually make really good friends, sometimes life long, at these gigs. This is why I’m so excited about this upcoming “Go West” tour in May. There’s already been some talk on Facebook going around with some friends down in Orange, CA.
As I wrote Jon a note a few days later I came upon a few words that summed up my time with them. I’ll share them here with you too. “Making music is only one part of my life that I enjoy so much. The other part is meeting wonderful people like the Halls and their friends and family. It’s always such a Godly reminder of what a privilege and joy it is to do what I do.”
I’ve had so many rich friendships come out of these little tours and like it says in Zechariah 4:10 “10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…”
I don’t despise these times with my new friends and those I’ve made during last December’s “snowbird tour” or during the “southwest spring tour” of 2014 where we spent time with Bedard’s and many friends in Kearney, NE. These are not only memories for me but my family as well. I hope we have these friends forever.
What I’m going to do is take pictures with my host families and put them in a shrine here on my blog so that others can share in the stories and journey with us. We may not all know each other but maybe I can connect you through me and my travels. I wish I would’ve been setup to do this last December with Wagonseller’s, Hobart’s, Marsh’s, Lyons, Bruce Gordon, and Jan J. I’ll get you all next time. :)
Life moves fast and I may not always be doing house concerts so I want to redeem the time and make the memories while we have them. Join me and the family. It would be an honor to put you in the shrine. :)
