The Milk House Session

Okay, so I need to clarify a facebook post that I posted the other day. It stated something about "recording in a milk house." It's true, I woke up Sunday morning needing to record some songs for the upcoming release "Songs from Walnut Valley" and so I headed to the only place on the farm that had no children, dogs, phones or cars. So I went down to the old milk house. I had a freezer in there, an old gas stove, a work bench and an old water heater. Oh, also a laptop, two mics, one hammered dulcimer and other recording devices. It was truly an awesome sight.

If you haven't heard about the NEW 6 songs EP, it's going to be a solo acoustic hammered dulcimer project featuring the songs that I will be performing in the attempt to win the National Hammered Dulcimer title in Winfield, KS on Sep. 18th. It's called the Walnut Valley Folk Festival, hence the name of the album. It's actually going to be a concept album which will follow the scheme of a day. Titles such as:

Morning in the Meadows
The Unknown
Storm
Moon on the Water
Bedtime (Prelude to Cello Suite) Bach
My Father's Song

What we are hoping for is to have the CD ready for purchase before we go to Winfield so that you can listen, enjoy and cheer for me on my way to national stardom. :-)  So I still have some recording to do and editing then after the holiday weekend I'll send it down to Nashville for mastering and duplication. Yea!!! I love my place in the Kingdom!!!
